Jim Walsh

The Patron Saint of Radio.

Michael Carroll

A native of New York, Michael Carroll received a degree in Engineering from the University of Colorado and then, sensibly, went straight into music. He studied music theory privately with Dale Bruning. He’s spent most of the last 25 years in New York City writing original music for advertising and television. His commercials have won many awards over the years and he has at least a dozen citations (he hasn’t really counted lately) in New York’s Museum of Television and Radio.

He’s the guy you’ve all heard but never knew. He also has music currently on Oprah (you know, that stuff they play when people walk on and off). He’s a newbie in radio, however (at least in front of the microphone), but is very excited to bring his years of writing and production experience to the airwaves with The Mikie Show—a half hour variety show whose main purpose is to lift your spirits. If you have no spirits, a glass of iced tea will do (but come on, really? No spirits?) and, hopefully, to make us think more about the creative possibilities of sound.

Michael continues to write music and does other projects including interactive musical installations in parks and at art events. He was commissioned in 2008 to compose a ballet for the City of Yuma and the State of Arizona. He’s just finished a book of music for solo piano. Visit The Mikie Show at themikieshow.org for more info.

Lisa Morrison

Long-time radio producer and on-air host, Lisa Morrison, brings her award-winning Americana radio show, Roots Diner, to WITT.  Indianapolis radio audiences will remember Morrison as the host of the popular music program airing originally on WKLU.  Prior to the creation of Roots Diner, Lisa produced and hosted the award-winning Over Easy music show on WTTS radio.   Lisa is Founder and President of Morrison Marketing & Media, a boutique marketing firm that serves multi-sector businesses and non-profit organizations across South Central Indiana.   The company specializes in public relations, media management and event planning.

Rachel Davis

Rachel lives in new Palestine with her husband of 6 months. A native of McCordsville Indiana, she graduated from Mount Vernon High School and studied fashion design and business at IU-Bloomington. Rachel worked odd jobs around the radio station for many months before becoming a desk jockey and then made the transition to being on the air. Rachel is a music lover who plays the drums and guitar in her spare time. Her eclectic taste in music makes her feel right at home at WITT.

Joel Wentworth

Joel lives with his wife and three children in the Meridian-Kessler nieghborhood and are expectng their fourth child in the mid-summer. A love for music that is off the beaten path is what led him to WITT. After working in the yard listening to a radio station that seemed to play everything imaginable, Joel was hooked. He soon felt the need to give back to the station he had come to love.

Matt Masters

The Rock N Rhythm Revue is a 30 minute radio program  broadcast on 91.9 WITT-FM & 88.7 WICR-FM in Indianapolis. The Revue was created by Matt Masters who also produces and hosts the program.  The Revue can be heard on Friday nights at 9:30 & Saturday mornings at 10:30 on WITT – Saturday & Sunday mornings on WICR at 5:00.

The Rock N Rhythm Revue showcases the musical period of roughly 1945-1965 encompassing the genres of jazz, blues, jump blues, swing, doo-wop, rockabilly, R&B, rock n roll, garage rock, early British invasion – and well you get the picture – no wimpy malt shop memories, nor other bland pop music of that era – it’s gotta have rhythm and it’s gotta rock.

Each show is theme-based: sometimes an artist or record label is showcased, or sometimes a genre or one song is featured (in its various versions) and sometimes its just a theme we all have in common.

The Revue is all about the 3 ‘E’s'……..it enlightens, it educates and, most importantly, it entertains!

Matt began the Revue for his late uncle Chuck Steker and resides in Greenfield, Indiana with his wife Andi, son Jett and daughter Sonnet.  Contact Matt

Andrew Funke

Andrew has been interested in music and radio his entire life, starting at age 10 with a home-made radio show he hosted and produced on cassette with a jam box. While he was earning his degrees at Indiana University, one of his student internships involved a two-year stint cataloging broadcasts of the Johnny Otis Show, on Los Angeles’ public Radio Pacifica. Otis’ show taught Andrew a great deal about not only West Coast blues and R&B, but also how to create a radio show that was engaging, educational, and entertaining for the listener. It was one of the most “real” radio shows Andrew had ever heard, with the host not only being an emcee but also a fan and friend of the artists he featured. Andrew has carried this vibe over to the Back Road Radio Show and hopes to keep listeners coming back each week to hear great alternative country, roots, and Americana music, plus live interviews and performances with up-and-coming local, regional, and national acts.
