Bios of the People Behind the Mic.

Michael Carroll

A native of New York, Michael Carroll received a degree in Engineering from the University of Colorado and then, sensibly, went straight into music. He studied music theory privately with Dale Bruning. He’s spent most of the last 25 years in New York City writing original music for advertising and television. His commercials have won many awards over the years and he has at least a dozen citations (he hasn’t really counted lately) in New York’s Museum of Television and Radio.

He’s the guy you’ve all heard but never knew. He also has music currently on Oprah (you know, that stuff they play when people walk on and off). He’s a newbie in radio, however (at least in front of the microphone), but is very excited to bring his years of writing and production experience to the airwaves with The Mikie Show—a half hour variety show whose main purpose is to lift your spirits. If you have no spirits, a glass of iced tea will do (but come on, really? No spirits?) and, hopefully, to make us think more about the creative possibilities of sound.

Michael continues to write music and does other projects including interactive musical installations in parks and at art events. He was commissioned in 2008 to compose a ballet for the City of Yuma and the State of Arizona. He’s just finished a book of music for solo piano. Visit The Mikie Show at http://themikieshow.org for more info.

For eight years, she ran the Perry-Worth Drama Club at the elementary school in Whitestown, Indiana, producing, directing, and writing the shows. Matt Masters

encompassing the genres of jazz, blues, jump blues, doo-wop, gospel, rockabilly, R&B, rock n roll, garage rock, early British invasion – and, well, you get the picture. No wimpy malt shop memories, nor vanilla pop music of that era - it's gotta have rhythm and it's gotta rock, but that doesn’t mean it has to be up-tempo. The Revue is all about the 3 'E's'........it enlightens, it educates and, most importantly, it entertains!

Each program is theme-based: sometimes an artist or record label is showcased, or sometimes a genre or one song is featured (in its various versions) and sometimes it’s just a theme we all have in common.

The Rock N Rhythm Revue was created by Matt Masters who also produces and hosts the program. Matt began the Revue for his late uncle Chuck Steker and resides in Greenfield, Indiana with his wife Andi, son Jett and daughter Sonnet.
